Corvin is More Than Just a Mask

Underneath Corvin, there is me, Arklis. I’ve been a vocalist for over 10 years, actor for 5, and costumer for 3. I started by learning how to do impressions at a very young age, mainly from the game Team Fortress 2. As I continued to practice, I started gaining the ability to manipulate it in unique ways, such as the peculiar noises I make as Corvin.

I started acting in 2020, with a junior production of Peter Pan. Which just so happened to have a tech week that coincided with the start of that one virus we all know and most hate, thus cancelling what would be my start in acting. Then about a year later, I joined in an.. admittedly quite chaotic attempt at a junior production of Les Miserables, in which I would slowly discover how fun it was to act. After that production, I would continue with that theatre group for another 2 major productions. One of which included Fiddler on The Roof Junior, in which I played the lead role, Tevye.

After my journeys through theatre, I started to focus more on creating my own characters and stories, and thus my costuming journey was born. I started with a plague doctor, Storick Quell, who I played for a full Renaissance Festival season. The season I would meet my friend Kreok, who inspired me to delve further into a more.. Cryptid-esque aesthetic. So I created Corvin, who I slowly tinkered with over the past couple years to where they are now. Corvin as a character is what helped me get into so many different crafting styles, namely painting, leatherwork, and some minor sewing. I plan to get good enough at multiple forms of crafting so I can become an amateur artisan in the future, and sell my works.
